The Best Things I Ate on Virgin Voyages (Snacktime Edition!)

Virgin Voyage’s Scarlet Lady certainly boasts no shortage of places to get your snack on. The ship has 9 sit-down restaurants, snacks to nosh at many of the 12+ bars, and an innovative and extensive room service menu. There are also opportunities to graze at the ship’s 24-hour diner, a fun mid-ship snack bar with candy, popcorn, and carnival treats, a popsicle cart, a coffee bar, and fresh-made smoothies!

And of course, what would a cruise be without pizza? On Scarlet Lady pies are freshly made to order on hand-stretched dough. They’ll even offer to box your pizza up so you can bring it back to your room and eat in your hammock.

(PS — shoutout to the brilliant ship designer who put the pizza place is right next to the ice cream shop on board….you need something to kill a few minutes while you wait for your pizza to cook, right?

Why yes, if you were on the 04-February sailing I *was* that girl who kept ordering “chicken pesto pizza no chicken”…

With 8 arms, you could hold all 8 of these cream flavors at once…

And for the truly lazy vacation-minded there’s always room service! Virgin does away with boring sandwiches and stale chips and has designed a room service menu that’s wholly unique. The food comes to you in nifty nylon bags so it’s still nice and warm, and all of your condiments, sauces, etc. are packaged in reusable containers. I had this amazing (VEGAN!) blueberry cheesecake with green tea crust every day that I sailed — it was that good!

Here’s a room service tip — delivery is $5, but so is fresh orange juice, coffee, or hot tea, and if you order one of those the delivery fee is waived. So I got in the habit of adding a carafe of hot tea to my order, making it the same price as the delivery fee would be, and then I’d have a little tea on my balcony before bed each night.

Scarlet Lady also has something I’ve never seen on a ship before — these nifty to-go boxes are available in a few spots on the ship so you can just grab them and go! I kept a box of walnut and pomegranate dip in my minifridge at all times for a quick snack! And like the rest of the ship - the packaging is reusable so there’s no wasted single-use plastic!

Hey…uh…Virgin…what’s a girl gotta do to get the recipe for this dip?

And lastly, if you’re like me and a “I-can-never-stop-working-or-I’ll-be-worthless-and-die” Millenial, I highly recommend doing your remote work from Scarlet Lady’s most chill spot - the Dock House. Located at the rear of the ship, this Mediterranean-inspired lounge has a lovely menu of small plates and apps like grilled polenta, wood-fired shrimp, and the most amazing fresh veggies and eggplant dip! The Dock House makes a beautiful spot to admire all the people who are actually able to relax on vacation — goals, amiright?

Why yes, if you were on the 04-February sailing I *was* that girl who asked the staff for “like just a whole plate of polenta and a giant bowl of sauce - don’t worry about plating it, really”

There’s so much amazing food onboard Scarlet Lady that I can’t fit them into a single post, so look for more updates about the restaurants, bars, and Beach Club at Bimini soon. And if you’re drooling at the thought, go ahead and book a consultation call or shoot me an email to get onboard yourself! Remember to ask me about my special “drinks on me” bonus!
